Data Center & Open Compute

We provide centralized power supply systems for data centers, compatible with the Open Compute Project (OCP) and capable of being efficiently customized

Features

Our Open Compute Project (OCP)-compatible centralized power supply systems for data centers enable PSUs to operate in a higher load range compared to conventional distributed power supply systems. Efficiently operating PSUs reduces running costs. Furthermore, flexible redundancy configurations are possible to suit your operational objectives and design requirements.

  • High-efficiency operation: Realizes stable and high-efficiency operation in the medium to high load range to maximize power conversion efficiency
  • Flexible redundancy: It is possible to change the configuration to suit the specifications of data centers and AI servers
  • Improved workability: Being able to perform maintenance and inspections, such as PSU replacement work, on the front end improves workability and also simplifies wiring on the back of racks at the same time
  • Compatibility with high power density: Provides high-power power supplies compatible with the increasing power density due to the spread of AI servers

The power density of racks has been rapidly increasing due to the spread of AI servers in recent years. Murata Manufacturing’s OCP-compatible power supply systems combine high efficiency and flexibility to powerfully support AI servers and high-load data center operations.

  • 80Plus-certified products: We provide a lineup of 80Plus Titanium- and 80Plus Ruby-certified high-efficiency PSUs
  • Compatibility with a wide range of specifications: We offer a range of PSUs and power shelves compliant with ORV2, ORV3 and ORV3-HPR standards to stably provide power for heavy-load devices
  • Compatibility with diverse power supply inputs: Flexibly compatible with single-phase AC, three-phase AC and HVDC (200 to 400 Vdc) inputs to conform to various operating environments

We have a lineup of 19-inch width and 21-inch width shelves.

Feature Power Shelf

Murata Manufacturing’s power shelves for centralized power supply systems integrate and house high-efficiency power supply units (PSUs) and remote management units (RMUs) to improve the operational efficiency of data centers and AI servers.

We offer a lineup of power shelves that can be installed in EIA racks with a width of 19 inches that are widely used in conventional data centers in addition to the standard OCP rack width of 21 inches. Therefore, our power shelves can be installed in a wide range of operating environments from existing infrastructure to the latest configurations.

Our power shelves are also compatible with diverse input methods. It is possible to use both AC (three-phase Wye, Delta and single-phase) and DC input. Moreover, the power shelves have two input connectors. Therefore, it is possible to use the redundant configurations of N+1 (M) for general PSU redundancy as well as N+N for input system redundancy. Furthermore, to address the increasing power consumption per rack due to an increase in the thermal design power of xPUs in recent years, the ORV3 system and later support parallel operation of power shelves.

Adoption Benefits and Advantages

  • Wide-ranging installation conformity: Compatible with both 21-inch OCP specifications and 19-inch EIA specifications
  • Compatibility with diverse inputs: All AC input methods and DC input
  • Support for various redundancy designs: Compatible with N+1 (M) for PSU redundancy and N+N for input redundancy
  • Compatible with high loads: Also compatible with higher power densities in racks with parallel operation support
