PFC MegaPAC MI

Configurable AC/DC PFC Power Supply up to 2400 Watt for MIL Applications

Description

The PFC MegaPAC MI and PFC MegaPAC-High Power MI combine power factor correction (PFC) with the configurability of the MegaPAC family of power supplies. The PFC MegaPAC MI and PFC MegaPAC-High Power MI provide up to 1,600 Watts and 2,400 Watts of output powers respectively. The chassis has 8 slots and can provide as many as 32 outputs for the PFC MegaPAC MI and 25 outputs for the PFC MegaPAC-High Power MI. The PFC MegaPAC MI and PFC MegaPAC-High Power MI have the same input and output connections, mounting points, and the same dimensions.

These ruggedized chassis bring a new level of configurability and ease of use to COTS applications. Based on Vicor’s proven family of reliable modules and incorporating powerful and flexible PFC front ends, these product easily meet MIL specs for shock, vibration, wide temperature range, and demanding electrical environments. The PFC MegaPAC MI and PFC MegaPAC HP MI will also work well in demanding industrial environments.

A complete power supply is configured at the factory by selecting and inserting up to eight (four to six for the PFC MegaPAC-High Power MI depending on ConverterPACs used) same length slide-in output assemblies called ConverterPACs . ConverterPACs incorporate one (or more) VI-200 / VI-J00 and/or Maxi Vicor DC-DC converters and are available in a wide selection of output voltage and power levels.

Description ConverterPACs

ConverterPACs are the family of slide-in output assemblies used in MegaPAC Power Supplies. There are currently 13 ConverterPACs available for use. Most ConverterPACs of the same length are interchangeable within a MegaPAC and between different AC input MegaPAC chassis. They can be added, moved, or changed as necessary.

ConverterPACs incorporate VI-200 or VI-J00 and / or Maxi Vicor DC-DC converter bricks. For additional power, ConverterPACs can be paralleled. Some ConverterPACs are available for low-noise applications (VXI options, RamPACs and QPACs) and as current sources (BatPACs). All ConverterPACs can be easily removed in the field by loosening a single screw and sliding the unit out of the chassis.

Specifications of ConverterPACs

Output Voltages:
  • 2 – 95 Vdc (higher through series arrays)
Output Power:
  • Up to 600 W
Efficiency:
  • 80 – 90%

Features of ConverterPACs

  • RoHS compliant (see individual data sheets for associated RoHS letter)
  • DC OK / Power Good option available
  • Adjustment ranges from 50% to 110% of nominal on some models
  • Low noise options to 10 mV p-p or 0.15% whichever is greater on some models
  • Current source outputs available
